Spiral-wound gaskets
The special design of a spiral-wound gasket enables it to be used in critical environments and high-pressure applications by combining a spirally wound soft material strip and a stainless steel strip. Due to the design, component expansion differences and resulting sealing gap changes can be compensated. This ensures reliable sealing and reduces leakage rates even at high pressures and temperatures.
Spiral-wound gaskets have long been used as sealing elements in refineries, chemical plants, gas installations, water treatment plants and in general pipeline construction. The secret of the spiral wound gasket is a wound "V" shaped steel strip. Under pressure it presses against the flanges and simultaneously compresses the filling material.
All spiral-wound gaskets can be delivered with and without inner and outer rings. Its texture is designed for universal sealing application of substances like water, bases, steam, acids and gases.
